Life | My Life

I haven’t been posting much lately, not for a lack of image making but more because of the challenge of trying to balance full time work, full time shooting, full time mommy and my sanity 🙂

I’m hoping to find better balance in the very near future.

A lot of things have changed in my life and a lot of things are continuing to change.  First, Jeff took a job in Seattle and for the last three months we’ve been trying to figure out if it’s a job he totally loves-as it turns out he quite enjoyed the job but he couldn’t stand being away from his wife and baby girl any longer, we were functioning without him, but it’s so much better to have him home. Second, Jeff and I are expecting another little Gesick. I’m due in less than 4 days and I’m both terrified and overwhelmingly excited about it. This time around I’m working with a midwife and the odds are as in my favor as possible for not getting pre-eclampsia again and going into natural labor (wish me luck and health)!

I really do need all the luck and positive thoughts I can get. I very desperately want a completely natural birth and with being just 4 days away from my due date it seems like a very real possibility. But I have been put on rest the last week and a half to keep my blood pressure good and because of just how much strain pregnancy puts on your kidneys induction has been mentioned more than a few times. I know that my midwife, nephrologist and two consulting OB’s will not recommend that I go more than a few days past my due date. It’s hard for me to think that I will have made it this far and still face the very real possibility of induction.

After 10 months of living out of boxes with no definite sense of home we finally are in our own place. I can’t even begin to tell you how wonderful it feels not to be living out of boxes anymore! While it’s a definite possibility that we will be moving again soon (because of a job change or buying a house or whatever life throws our way) I am so happy to be all unpacked and settled in. Plus, it’s just wonderful to have our own space again and all be living in the same sate. Our apartment is a little bit older, it’s totally perfect for us. It’s the perfect size and we both like some of the older quirks about it, for example our haunted hallway lights. Or at least I call them haunter, but really they are wired incorrectly and so the switches do weird things sometimes.

In a nutshell that’s what’s been going on in the crazy madness known as my life.  I still have lots of shoots to blog and hope to over the next few days while I wait for labor to start and I’m looking forward to lots of wonderful shoots this spring and summer!
